Send several cases at once

Use the multi-case uploader to send several cases to the same recipients in one go, and how allowance is counted.

Written for Labs and practices sending cases

The multi-case uploader sends several cases to the same recipients in one go, for example a day's work for one practice. Each case is still its own transfer, with its own work order, files, download link and email, and its own row in My Transfers.

How do I add more than one case?

  1. Start a New transfer and add the recipients. They are shared by every case in the batch.
  2. Fill in the first case, then select + Add case. You can add up to 25 cases.
  3. The Cases list shows each one. Select a case to edit its details and attach its own files. Each case's files keep uploading while you work on another case, and the list shows which cases are still uploading.
  4. To take a case out, select Remove case. To empty one and delete its files, select Clear case.
  5. When every case is ready, select Review & send, choose the send options and select Send … cases →.
The Cases list on the New transfer page with three cases, the selected case highlighted and the Add case button.
Cases: each case keeps its own work order and files.

How do I review and send the batch?

Select Review & send at the bottom of the work order. The summary lists every case and its files, and the Send options (one link password, one file-deletion period and one message) apply to every case. You stay on the same page, so files still uploading keep going; to change a case, select Back to work order. Select Send … cases → to send them all. If any files are still uploading, a progress window shows while they finish, then every case is sent. Once you select Send, it can't be cancelled.

Send the batch: check every case, then send them together.

How much allowance does a batch use?

Every case goes to every recipient, so a batch costs the number of cases multiplied by the number of recipients. Five cases to three practices uses 15 transfers. The form shows the total before you send.

The whole batch is checked against your remaining allowance before anything is sent. If there is not enough left, nothing is sent, so a practice never receives only part of a batch. Remove cases or recipients, or wait for your allowance to reset. See How the allowance is counted.

What happens after sending?

The confirmation page lists every case with its work order. Each recipient gets one email per case. From then on, manage each case individually in My Transfers.
