Work from your Received list
Find every case sent to your address, open expired links your plan can recover, and send files back with a return transfer.
Written for Anyone receiving a case
Received lists every transfer sent to your account's email address, from any lab or practice, plus cases submitted through your own inbound form. It is the way back to a case after the email has gone.
How do I find a case?
Search by case reference or sender, and filter by status or date (last 7, 30 or 90 days). Each row shows the case reference, who it is from, its status, when you received it and how many files it has. Select Open to go to the download page.
The status filter takes more than one status, for example Sent on its own to hide cases you have already downloaded. Your statuses and date range are remembered for your account, so the list opens the same way after a refresh, after signing in again and on another computer. Choose Show all statuses to go back to every status, or Clear filters to reset the search, statuses and date range at once and forget the saved choice.
Why is a case reference hidden?
The sender protected that transfer with a link password, so its case reference is not shown until you enter the password. Select Unlock, enter the password, and the row shows the reference and Open for the next eight hours in that browser.
What do Inbound, Verified and Unverified mean?
Cases sent through your inbound form are marked Inbound.
- Verified: the submitter was signed in to a Lab-Send-Go account with a confirmed email address.
- Unverified: the name and email were typed into the form by the submitter and have not been checked, so treat them with care.
Recovered transfers
If your own plan is Pro and Enterprise, you can still open transfers sent to you after their link has expired. These rows show Recovered with an Open button. Recovery is for you only: the transfer stays expired for the sender and other recipients, and the sender is not asked to do anything. The emailed link still shows Transfer expired; recovery only works from Received.
On Free and Basic, expired rows show Expired with Upgrade to recover where recovery would be possible. Recovery is never possible for a transfer the sender withdrew, or once the sender's file-retention period has deleted the files.
Why can I not open a case?
- Withdrawn by sender: the sender revoked access. Ask them for a new link.
- Expired: the download window closed. Ask the sender to restore it, or see Recovered transfers above.
- Files deleted; transfer history remains: the sender's hosted files have been permanently deleted.
- No longer available: the link has closed and your plan cannot recover it.
How do I send work back to the sender?
Open the case and select Return transfer under Send files back. A transfer back to the sender is started for you. If the link has expired, select Open on the case in your list; the expired page still offers Return transfer on any plan. See How do I send files back?
Will I be told when something arrives?
Yes. You always receive the transfer email, and the bell at the top of the page shows Transfer received. You can also be reminded about cases you have not downloaded and warned before a link expires. See Choose your notifications.
